Demand Factors: Trade Weighted Index

Although there is no set goal for the value of the currency, the RBA will intervene if they feel that the value of the AUD is affecting other goals as set by the Australian government. As such, we have only the vague goal that we do not want the currency to be over or under-valued.

It is important to note that the TWI is calculated on a daily basis.  The figures in the table represent the TWI as at June 30th each year, but the graph shows the actual trend during this period.
