In March this year there was a significant change to the way in which your bank charges fees when you use an ATM. The benefit to us is increased competition, and that will help us to achieve higher levels of efficiency.

The government has commissioned Ken Henry to complete a review of the Australian taxation system. This makes it a "current event", and it is therefore far more likely to appear on the final exam! In other words, now is a good time to learn about tax reform.

If you were to ask all of your friends what they believe the rate of inflation will be over the next twelve months, you would probably get a wide range of answers. The official figure for inflationary expectations can actually be very useful.
